Veteran Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has now set her sights on Tamil cinema. On her birthday, October 26, Raveena got the best gift imaginable, an official announcement that she is part of superstar Suriya’s upcoming film ‘Suriya 46’, directed by Venky Atluri.
The makers of the film chose this special day to reveal the news making the announcement even more memorable for Raveena and her fans. Sharing the update on social media, the production team wrote, “Wishing the ever-graceful @TandonRaveena a very Happy Birthday. ‘Suriya 46’ has already been one of the most awaited Tamil films of the year. The project went on floors in May with a traditional pooja ceremony held in Hyderabad. The production team also thanked legendary director Trivikram for giving the first clap to begin the shoot, and revealed that the movie is scheduled for a summer 2026 release.
The film promises a high-octane mix of drama and entertainment featuring Tamil superstar Suriya in the lead role. GV Prakash Kumar is going to compose the music while Mamitha Baiju will play the female lead. Veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar has also been roped in for an important role.
Raveena’s birthday celebrations were full of love and nostalgia. Her daughter, Rasha, shared a delightful collage of throwback pictures on social media, showing Raveena in her glamorous younger days. The post also included adorable snaps of Rasha herself capturing special mother-daughter moments.
Raveena isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Alongside her Tamil debut, she is also gearing up for her next Bollywood outing, ‘Welcome 3’, a comedy-drama and the third film in the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise. The movie promises laughs and fun with a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, and Paresh Rawal.
